Powerful and Helpful…but could improve.
Desktop Bible is pretty darn good in its own right, but it lacks the power and ease of use of “Day One”. I hate to be rough on a BIble app (it just feels weird and wrong) but since the built in journal is the only thing that sets this app apart from other less expensive Bible apps availalbe on OSX, and the Christain community should be as professional, if not moreso, than the secular world, I must draw attention to the abitilty to improve.
Pros: Easy minimulistic design, Intuitive Interface, Multiple supported versions, built in journaling service, uses little amount of RAM.
Cons: The minmulistic desing is form over function and I’d like to see more powerful functions brought to the table. The journalling service needs to have an organization component to allow days to be in folders labelled with lesson titles.
Overall: A good bible app with a decent built in journaling service, but if you are going to journal every day anyways, Day One would be a fantastic alternative to look into. Good luck with whatever you choose!
To the developers: Please fix folders, make the interface a little more powerful (knowingly at the cost of the minimulistic design) and the ability to catagorize journals from the past! Just some ideas.
