Great App!

This is a very handy app with a clean interface. I recommend it highly.

Good Basic App, But Lacking Some Features

I love how simple this app is and how easy it is to understand. If you need a clean and easy app to read scripture, this is your app. Also, I love how many translations are avaliable. I use many online tools to do sermon prep - I was hoping that this app would take the place of them. First, one thing I really wish was included was a Greek and Hebrew dictionary - Strong’s would be nice. Second, one thing that really should be there is a better navigation system to find verses. I really wish that you could type “John 3” or “2 cor 12:9” into a search bar. To find a verse you have to click which testament, then book, then chapter (no way to go to a specific verse). As another small request, Evernote integration would be nice for the journal section. Overall, a great app. I would rather use a clean, uncluttered, and well-thought out app with fewer features than and messy, cluttered app with too many features and a price tag that’s more than my car.

Very Cool!

Very good program over others I have tried. Would like to highlight individual words at times (Allows only whole verse). Also, found a few chapter errors (minor issue, does not see to effect all books, only the New American Standard). Other than those issues, I find this a very useful tool for studying. These are s follows: Isaiah 6 (chapter 5 in its place) Isaiah 41 and 42 Ecc. 6 (chapter 5) Songs of Sol. 6 (same as ch. 5) Jer. 9 and 10

Powerful and Helpful…but could improve.

Desktop Bible is pretty darn good in its own right, but it lacks the power and ease of use of “Day One”. I hate to be rough on a BIble app (it just feels weird and wrong) but since the built in journal is the only thing that sets this app apart from other less expensive Bible apps availalbe on OSX, and the Christain community should be as professional, if not moreso, than the secular world, I must draw attention to the abitilty to improve. Pros: Easy minimulistic design, Intuitive Interface, Multiple supported versions, built in journaling service, uses little amount of RAM. Cons: The minmulistic desing is form over function and I’d like to see more powerful functions brought to the table. The journalling service needs to have an organization component to allow days to be in folders labelled with lesson titles. Overall: A good bible app with a decent built in journaling service, but if you are going to journal every day anyways, Day One would be a fantastic alternative to look into. Good luck with whatever you choose! To the developers: Please fix folders, make the interface a little more powerful (knowingly at the cost of the minimulistic design) and the ability to catagorize journals from the past! Just some ideas.

This app is a true Blessing !!

This app is a true Blessing !! Work very fast without bugs,i recommend this app for everyone , we all need God and His Word !! God Bless You All !!

Mediocre

Using this app is frustrating at times. In comparison to something like logos or other softwear for bible study this really is lacking. It’s usability is also difficult at times and as a whole it is a limited.

Works for me!

I really love this program. Especially being able to keep my daily journal and copy and paste important verses into my journal. Only wish there was a way to book mark what I read the day before. Would also like a seperate place for my Prayer List. Overall, really enjoying it.

Wonderful

Just excellent for this is KJV the version I am looking for. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!!!!!!!!!

KJV is nice but needs more versions

Interface is beautiful and lovely but limiting to just the KJV makes this $2 I probaby shouldn’t have spent.

More versions please.

This is a great app. It is clean, simple and elegant. However, it lacks other versions for parallel studies. Please add NASB, ESV, and NKJV, thank you.

A must app for bible study

I love reading Bible and coming across to this app was a bonus for me. Thanks for the Multiple version, it makes it a complete Bible Study app now.

Instructions please.

The promo promises multi phase inquiry which would be wonderful if the instruction of how to navigate through them was available. I did manage to select several Bible versions but I could not set up the comparative version or the use of the ‘Bible Verse or Journal’ portion. Is there an instruction manual? If I could open it to its potential I would give 5 stars.

Nicely done, easy to maneuver!

Great application! By Val Lee of "val lee’s weblog," author of 5 free books at this site.

Can’t Read the Text!

I was excited by the prospect of having a program just for reading the Bible on my mac and am greatly appreciative of the number of versions you can choose from. Once I downloaded and installed the program though, the left reading pane is black and I can’t read any of the text. I was able to search (in the dark) for the icon to open up another version side-by-side, but i was still not able to see any of the scripture text. Please provide help or instructions, or if this is a bug I hope that it can be fixed very soon. Hopeful that I have found the Bible reading app. of choice. We’ll see.

does nothing

I opened my new app. There are no visible signs of diretions. I cannot open a book. I cannot start a file. NOTHING. I wnet to Desktop Bible Support and got no help at all. Just wont work for me. Frozen.

Love it!!!

Please come out with a ios version. It’s about time someone comes out with a bible app that is modern looking.

First Class App All The Way!

I love everything about this app! It’s amazing and remarkable! It’s a pleasure reading through this app, to be able to sift through scriptures effortlessly and get the different versions at the speed of a click, amazing!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Great Time Saver

I teach a Sunday school class at First Baptist of Dallas, Ga., and It saves me so much time to be able to copy the reference verses in our lesson and paste them to text edit and print. That way, I can read the lesson and read the references without having to look them up. And I love the way you can choose what version best suits you!! Billy Dedon

great app

it would be even better if when you switched versions of the bible it didnt set you back to genesis. otherwise its a great app.

College Bible Theology Classes

I am so thankful I found this baby! I only wish I had found it at the beginning of the school year! I currently attend a private Christian college, where we take Old Testament, New Testament and Christian Doctrine theology classes. It is so helpful to have the bible right there on my desktop as well as a place to take notes for each chapter and verse. I really love this and will be recommending it to all my friends with Macs, here at school!!!! Thank you so much for this amazing app and I can’t wait for updates!!!
